  70.               PROFILES OF THE CREW MEMBERS

  73.     Sidha--        A 104 year old Human male, was born and raised
  74.         in Calcutta, India, Earth.  He was in Starfleet for 75
  75.         years, raising to the rank of Head Admiral of the 
  76.         Exploration section.  After retiring, he still wanted to
  77.         roam the stars, and was granted a special dispensation
  78.         by the Federation Council to do so.  His role on the 
  79.         ENTERPRISE is mainly as a fatherly advisor and inspiration
  80.         to the staff.  The crew affectionately refer to him as
  81.         "Papa".
  82.  
  83.     Gul Tradori--      A 52 year old Cardassian male whose father was
  84.         a key figure in the Cardassian resistance.  Mild-mannered
  85.         but firm, he is a pacifist by nature, maybe too much so.
  86.         He is viewed with great respect in the Federation as one
  87.         of it's most capable ship commanders.  He is married and
  88.         has two children.
  89.  
  90.     Lynette Chan Chuan--    A 41 year old Human female, she was born
  91.         in Hong Kong, China, Earth.  She was raised on Vulcan and
  92.         Alpha Centauri as a result of the Solar Incident.  She is
  93.         very intuitive and balances Gul Tradori with her tenacious
  94.         nature.  She is unmarried, but looking.
  95.  
  96.     Stannax D'Brotus--    A expatriot Borg, whose age is unknown. 
  97.         It is theorized that he was an El-Auleron before he was
  98.         assimulated into the collective.  As with a few Borg, he
  99.         was unable to be biologically restored, so instead he was
  100.         restored into an android function.  He has been a Star
  101.         Fleet officer for almost 30 years.  He is still working 
  102.         on developing social skills, and tends to be very emotive.
  103.  
  104.     Xank--    A Ferengi male, who is 63 standard years old.  He runs
  105.         the Engineering Dept. very capably, albeit he has been 
  106.         know to haggle when asked to do extra work.  He has a
  107.         avaricious nature, as all Ferengi, but deep inside is a
  108.         very golden hearted being.  He is married, and has one
  109.         daughter.  
  110.     
  111.     Dr. Selar--Daughter of the Dr. Selar who served on NCC-1701D.
  112.         She is a 74 year old Vulcan female.  She completed the
  113.         Kolinahr initiation in her youth, at age 48.  She then left
  114.         and joined Star Fleet after hearing a calling to become a
  115.         healer; the medical field being changed completely as a
  116.         result of the Cynzenic breakthrough that allowed all life
  117.         forms to live several hundred years longer in an android
  118.         or bionanical form.  She is, despite her background, a
  119.         very bubbly, flirtatious woman.
  120.  
  121.     Brisbane--    A Bajoran-Romulan male, he was born on Dicultii V
  122.         in the Gamma Quadrant.  His grandfather was a member of 
  123.         the underground movement to reconcile Romulus with Vulcan.
  124.         He has very powerful telekinetic and telepathic abilities.
  125.         He also has some remnants of the classic Old Romulan 
  126.         temperament, plus a knack to play practical jokes.
  127.  
  128.     Eontil Dax--       The ninth Dax host, he has been involved with the
  129.         Star Fleet since the historic DS9 period.  He is a very
  130.         large Trill Symbiant, and is extremely skilled in martial
  131.         arts.  Passionate, and a collector at heart, he is in the
  132.         early stages of Trill senility, which is why the Dax 
  133.         symbiont was placed into such a robust specimen; he must 
  134.         be vigilant to maintain control.
  135.  
  136.     (Tony)    He is a male Horta.  Horta have been the traditional 
  137.         navagators in the Federation.  He comes from a family that 
  138.         has been in Star Fleet for over three centuries, since the
  139.         discovery by James T. Kirk.  He is amiable, but has a quick
  140.         temper, and tends to be self-absorbed at times.
  141.  
  142.     (Ben)    It is a Bynar, sex is indeterminant.  It has been a Star
  143.         Fleet officer for 20 plus years.  As a Bynar, it is very
  144.         efficient as the computer's companion, since computers are
  145.         considered sentient lifeforms, it must counsel, advocate 
  146.         and "gut-check" the ENTERPRISE.
  147.  
  148.     Teena    She is a Orion-Human female, born on Ophiucus III after it
  149.         was terraformed.  She claims Harcourt Fenton Mudd as a 
  150.         distant ancester, and since she is almost by default a 
  151.         member of the away team, she is always finding clever and
  152.         innoculous ways to acheive contact with new species.
  153.  
  154.     Chakir Mogh-- He is an exchanged student from the experimental
  155.         Klingon Ambassadorial Academy.  He is being tutored by 
  156.         several of the ENTERPRISE officers.  He is impulsive, 
  157.         loyal and practical, the classic Klingon.  A student of 
  158.         Klingon history, he is infatuated with Teena.
  159.  
  160.     (Jules)--    She is a delphoid female, born on the shores of
  161.         the Hawaiian New Island, raised on Triton and Oceana 
  162.         during the Solar Incident.  She is an officer trainee, and
  163.         works very closely with Lynette, who she admires as a 
  164.         heroine.  She is 34 years old, and anxiously awaits the 
  165.         day when she can again swim in the oceans of Earth.

  171.             *     THE BACKGROUND OF EXPLORER    *

  176.     The Year is 2524, the Twenty Sixth Century.  The Federation has
  177.     grown into a Galactic Federation.  It was peaceable for the most
  178.     part, but there were two wars that strained the Federation to the
  179.     very limit.  Many members of the Federation feared that the 
  180.     Federation itself would collapse during these outbreaks of
  181.     aggression.  The Federation responded to the threats from within
  182.     and without by developing a stronger sense of unity and purpose.
  183.  
  184.     After the Romulan Peace initiative of 2395, there was a revolt
  185.     by restorationists for a unalligned Romulan Empire.  In the 
  186.     opening years of the 25th Century, the Cardassians attacked the
  187.     Federation, and the war that ensued lasted 11 years, before the
  188.     Cardassions revolted and overthrew the entrenched Military 
  189.     government.  Then followed the First Galactic Conflict.  The 
  190.     Borg had been skirmishing with the Galactic Federation for over
  191.     60 years, but in 2435, they swooped on all fronts in an all-out
  192.     attempt to assimilated the Federation.  The conflict lasted over
  193.     40 years, and drained the Federation tremendously in terms of 
  194.     resources and lives.  The conflict seemed to be never-ending, 
  195.     irresoluable, until the Borg were penned back into a section of
  196.     the Delta Quadrant called Borg Space.  This area, about 15% of
  197.     the galaxy proper, was a "reservation" of sorts.  The Borg did
  198.     not capitulate, and the only alternative would have been to 
  199.     completely wipe them out.  Instead, the Federation designated
  200.     the Borg Space section, and routinely police it to keep the 
  201.     Borg from encroaching on other members of the Federation.
  202.  
  203.     In 2451, the Federation was invaded by a force known as the 
  204.     Chos.  The Chos originated from a point outside of the Milky 
  205.     Way galaxy, the M 100 Cluster, approximately 120,000 light
  206.     years away from Federation space.  The Chos felt that it's 
  207.     galactic neighbor would eventually overrun it, and produced
  208.     huge automated planet-killer starcraft.  The races of the
  209.     Federation responded again, but a number of fringe planets 
  210.     were destabilized or destroyed initially.  This led to 
  211.     dissension in the Federation, as members who were located on
  212.     the external spiral arms felt that they were underprotected.
  213.     This resulted in the need to research new ways of propulsion, 
  214.     and led to great scientific advances in the late 2490s.
  215.  
  216.     The first part of the 26th century was a renaissance for the
  217.     members of the Federation.  Over the long course of it's 
  218.     existence, members of the Federation had been growing closer,
  219.     and the resulting blend of cultures reached a critical growth
  220.     stage.  Incredible advances in culture, arts and sciences 
  221.     exemplified the "Galactic Community" as the Federation now
  222.     informally called the Milky Way.  The goals of the Federation
  223.     now turned to other galaxies...and to developing new frontiers
  224.     in our own.....
